Restoration Services for Public Spaces

Floor sanding, repairs and maintenance for schools, churches, community halls and offices in Bromley, planned around your timetable.

Restoring floors in schools, churches and offices

Sports halls, church halls and busy offices see thousands of footsteps every week. Done well, a sanded and properly finished wooden floor lasts for decades and looks better than any replacement. We work for headteachers, facilities managers, church committees and office managers, and we fit our work around your calendar.

Sectors we cover

  • Schools - halls and classrooms restored during half-terms and summer holidays, with court markings re-applied.

  • Churches & community halls - careful restoration of old parquet and boards, planned around services and hall hire.

  • Offices and commercial spaces - sanding and re-coating out of hours or at weekends, so your business keeps running.

Minimal disruption

Every building has its own pressures: term times, services, bookings or working hours. Work can be phased room by room, done out of hours, or completed over a holiday so the building is ready when you need it. Our dust-free machines and low-VOC finishes keep the rest of the building usable while we work.

Safety and paperwork

We understand the compliance requirements of schools, churches and commercial premises. Before any job we supply risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and we can send copies of our £5m public liability insurance certificate. Our team is experienced in working safely in occupied buildings.

Sports halls and court markings

Sports hall floors need a finish that is hardwearing, easy to clean and safe to play on. Our sports lacquers are designed for heavy use, and court lines are painted between coats so they are sealed under the final layer. The result is a floor that looks sharp, performs well and stands up to years of use. We give your caretaking team clear cleaning and maintenance advice.

The case for restoration

  • Much cheaper than a replacement floor

  • Preserves original timber and character

  • Less waste and a lower environmental impact

  • Quicker to complete, often within a single holiday

Keeping floors in good condition

The best way to protect your investment is regular maintenance. A light re-coat every year or two, timed for quieter periods, keeps busy floors protected and avoids the cost of a full sand. We also advise caretakers and cleaning teams on the right products and routines, and recommend entrance matting to stop grit reaching the floor. Many of our school and church clients have been with us for years.

Every project starts with a free site survey, a fixed quote and a clear programme of works. Our guide prices give an idea of costs, and larger projects receive a tailored quote.

Our services for public buildings

A typical project includes repairs to damaged areas followed by full sanding and refinishing. Regular re-coating keeps heavy-use floors looking good between full sands. Take a look at our recent projects for examples of halls and public buildings we have restored.

FAQ

Questions about Public Spaces

All questions
Do you do court lines on hall floors?

We can. After sanding we apply a slip-resistant sports lacquer and can repaint court markings for badminton, netball and other games between coats so they are sealed in. Read more about our school floor restoration.

Do you work evenings and weekends?

Yes — we plan school and public projects around term dates, events and opening hours. Most halls are finished in a few days, so the space is back in use quickly.

Can you sand office floors out of hours?

Office floors can be done out of hours or in phases. Dust-free sanding and low-odour finishes mean minimal disruption to your team.

Do you work on listed buildings and church halls?

We have restored many church and community hall floors. We treat older floors with care and choose finishes suited to heavy public use. See churches and community halls.

Do you provide risk assessments and method statements?

We provide risk assessments, method statements and insurance details before work begins. Our team is used to working on occupied sites with strict safety rules.

How are your prices worked out?

The cost depends on the size of the floor, its condition and the finish. Our price list shows typical starting prices, and the free survey gives you a fixed written quote.
