Wood Floor Repairs
Board and block replacement, squeak fixes and structural repairs for wooden floors in Bromley. Every repair is matched to your existing floor.
Repairing wooden floors across Bromley
Most wooden floors that look tired or broken can be saved. With the right timber, careful joinery and a well-matched finish, we repair the damaged areas and keep everything that is still sound. Our Bromley team has repaired floors in Victorian terraces, new-build flats, schools and churches, so we have seen most problems before.
Repairs are often the first stage of a bigger project. Once the floor is sound, floor sanding takes everything back to fresh timber so new and old wood finish as one surface. If the floor only needs a refresh afterwards, a maintenance re-oil may be all it takes.
Our floor repair services
Different floors fail in different ways, so we offer three dedicated repair services:
Parquet floor repairs - loose, hollow or missing blocks re-bonded or replaced, and herringbone or chevron patterns rebuilt.
Floorboards repairs - split, rotten or badly patched boards replaced with matched reclaimed pine, and loose boards secured to the joists.
Engineered and solid floor repairs - plank replacement, re-bonding lifted boards and dealing with movement or water damage.
How we match new timber to old
Good repairs should be invisible once the floor is finished. We source reclaimed boards and blocks of the same species, width and age wherever possible, and match the grain direction and colour before anything is fixed down. Where new timber is the only option, careful sanding and staining bring it close to the surrounding floor.
Common problems we fix
Creaking floors and boards that move underfoot
Hollow, lifting or missing parquet blocks
Water damage, staining and cupped boards
Old service cut-outs, mismatched patches and filled holes
Deep scratches, burns and impact damage
Finding the cause, not just the symptom
A repair only lasts if the cause has been dealt with. Damp subfloors, slow leaks, blocked air bricks and heavy point loads are the usual culprits. We take moisture readings, inspect underneath where we can and talk you through the options. If something needs a plumber or builder first, we will tell you honestly rather than cover it up.
Repair, then restore
Once the floor is sound, you can decide how far to take it. Some customers add gap filling to cut draughts, or a stain to give the room a new look. Please note that gap filling is excluded from our service guarantee, because wooden floors move with the seasons and the structure of the building. Everything else comes with our three-month guarantee on restoration work.

Common questions
Can you match my existing floorboards?
In most cases. We use reclaimed timber of the same species and size wherever possible and tone it in during finishing.
Will the whole floor need refinishing?
For the best match a full sand and refinish is recommended, but we can often blend small repairs with a local finish.
Is it possible to stop floorboards creaking?
Yes. Creaks are usually caused by loose boards or worn fixings, which we secure without damaging the floor.
How quickly can repairs be done?
Most repairs take a day or less. Larger parquet or water damage repairs may take two to three days, plus finishing.

Questions about Wood Floor Repairs
Which areas do you cover?
Our team works across Bromley and the neighbouring towns and villages. If you are just outside the area, send us a message — we can usually help for larger jobs.
Do you offer free surveys?
We visit for free, look at the floor and give you a fixed written quote. The price on the quote is the price you pay, unless you ask us to add extra work. You can request a quote online at any time.
Do you need to visit to give a price?
For many jobs, yes. A few clear photos and the room sizes let us give a guide price quickly. We confirm it with a short visit before work starts, so the final quote is fixed.
Do you guarantee your work?
Our floor restoration comes with a 3-month service guarantee. If something is not right with our workmanship during those three months, we come back and put it right. Gap filling is excluded, because wooden floors move with the seasons — see our service guarantee for the details.
How are your prices worked out?
The cost depends on the size of the floor, its condition and the finish. Our price list shows typical starting prices, and the free survey gives you a fixed written quote.
Do I need to empty the room?
Empty the room where possible and take down curtains that reach the floor. We can help move heavy furniture if we know in advance. Our guide to preparing your home has more tips.
